Genomic-based Diagnostics for Vitamin Treatable Conditions

Everyone metabolizes vitamins differently, based on our unique DNA code. VitaPath Genetics has developed a platform to identify these genomic differences so doctors can prescribe vitamin-based therapies that benefit certain medical conditions. Our first test measures genetic risk factors associated with giving birth to a child with spina bifida and identifies women who would benefit from prescription-strength folic acid supplementation before pregnancy.

The vitamin industry is a $30 billion market that currently has little genomic science to guide treatment decisions. VitaPath Genetics aims to impact the industry by developing diagnostic tests for the Vitanome, the subset of information that lies within our genomes that plays a critical role in how we individually metabolize vitamins.
